1974 Corvette For Sale

This beautiful restored matching numbers 454 Corvette Stingray is bored and stroked, and ready to shake the foundations in your neighborhood! The combination of the built engine and sidepipes gives it an unmistakable and distinct rumble. Combine that with the deep, mirror-like black paint, and this car is a head turner everywhere I go. This car has been in my family since it's birth. 3 years ago I had the restoration started by a local car restoring guru form the ground up. Basically, I wanted to leave it with as much original equipment as possible, so whatever worked I left it, if something didn't i replaced it with other original equipment, with few exceptions. The radio is not original, as i updated to a AM/FM radio with MP3 and jacks. The A/C is modernized, but as it isn't hot yet I haven't had it charged. I did away with the old points distributor system, and installed an electronic ignition system. I added the sidepipes with a painted plastic shield. The carburetor is a 4 barrel Holly, and the air cleaner is a Summit Racing. The wheels are 18" aluminum, and i still have the original wheels which go with the car. (they have been sanded and primed to protect them from decay). She riders on Nitto Extreme ZR rubber, 255/45/ZR 18's on the rear, and 235/50/ZR18's on the front. The hood is a 1970 style, with a raised cowell to accommodate the breather. The rear bumper has the look of the two-piece bumpers from 1974, but in fact is a one piece system. The original two piece system is known for cracking, and i didn't want to have to deal with that. The interior is all original, with the noted exception of the radio. Their is some minor cracking on the drivers side speaker cover, and the original carpeting has been replaced. The clock works sporadically, I have never been able to figure out the problem, but again it is the original. As of current, the parking brake needs some work or adjustment - it works, but I believe it should have more pressure than it does. The original factory spec brake system is still on the car, but in my opinion is not substantial enough. The car will stop just fine after it builds up vacuum, but always feels less than adequate to me. I was planning on stripping the brake system out and modernizing it, but never got around to it, and would still suggest it. The t-tops work, and rest on new seals, but as with all vintage t-top systems will and do still leak, especially when under a water hose. The leaking is very minor. The transmission and rear end have been rebuild, and shift and run very smooth. The Stingray emblems, the front hood emblem, and outside mirror show some signs of their age. The 454 emblems on the hood are new, as the originals where broken. I was planning on sending them off to get refurbished, but never got around to it - but, they don't look bad and really don't take anything away from the car. The car has about 300 miles on it since the rebuild was complete - in fact, it still has the break-in oil in the engine. I am not a car restoring guy, i fixed the car to keep, but now have other priorities that need financed. I have been told that this car is a rare commodity, as very few were built with the combination of 454, Stick, A/C and T-tops. Yes, i know everyone says the one they have is the rare one, but this is what I was told by a guy that works for GM. As I have been the victim of attempted scams before with a bogus bank draft check, i have stipulations to the sale. I will accept a bank draft or money order, but will not, under any circumstances, let the car go OR sign over the title until any check has cleared not only my bank, but gone through the system and cleared the issuing bank as well. I will accept cash, I would also agree to go to any bank in my area, if you bank with them, and have them give me check. I will also accommodate any vehicle inspectors you hire. I will also work with shippers on scheduling.
